ThamesCom Limited began Trading in April 1993. Originally called Thames Communications we were a partnership in those days. Our main business was fax and telex servicing. However, with the demise of telex we moved into laser printer servicing and more recently into document scanners, sales and servicing to compensate for the lack of telex work and to ensure we covered all aspects of office technology. Since then we have constantly evolved to keep pace with the markets and the latest technology. Today we cover the widest possible range of products. We are still big in fax and servicing remains as the core of our business. Needless to say we are able to meet every sales requirement and yet remain competitive. The reason for this is that our core business is service, therefore we are more than able to take lesser margins on sales than other companies, especially sales-only companies (known in the trade as “box-shifters”. In our case everything we sell, we service.
Moving on to 2002 we went from a partnership to a limited company. Only problem was that while we were not looking someone pinched our company name of Thames Communications and registered it for themselves. Our fault for not registering it earlier. Hence the reason we are now called ThamesCom Limited. Near enough and anyway Thames Communications was a bit long for some purposes. Having registered in 2002 it was not until February 2003 that we actually began trading as a limited company.
More recently we added our on-line shop and in the process were able to offer an even wider range of goods than before.
